The Presidential Sound System is back for it's third session and first since the summer. This time, we welcome the legendary Nick Manasseh of the mighty Roots Garden Records to the US for the first time to mash down Babylon. We also welcome Massada Rock sound system down from Brooklyn, NY to bless the stack inna proper warehouse style and fashion. Grand Ancestor top chatta HUTCHY will be pon di mic as usual. Strictly postive vibes as we rally round the sound. This event is proudly associated with the 6th annual Dub Champions Festival.

Manasseh oun Syste was built in 1985 by a group of friends eady for the Sunday morning of Notting Hill Carniva, ith the aim f playing reggae with a roots focus, nd was based in West London. ick Manasseh started producing the same year, beginning with Sound Iration with Scruf, credited as the beginning of UK steppa. In 1987 Nick began his show on Kiss FM, brought in by brothers Norman and Joey Jay to play 3-7am whilst the station was a pirat, an later on F s 3-6a, until Kiss was re-programmed in 1999.

he iz Label was started by the Manasseh crew in 1991, releasing the first Manasseh Meets The Equalizer (AKA Jeremy Armstrong) album in 1992- 'Dub The Millennium', which was then licensed to Acid Jaz, followed by, 'Shining' in 1996, and finally, 'Step Like Pepper', in 200. Nick has since produced countless tracks, remixes and albums from world class musicians including Emeliana Torrini, Lee Perry, Brother Culture and Earl 1.

Most recentl produced by Nic are the wave o productions fo Roots Garden ecords storming the UK reggae charts, beginning in 2004 with Johnny Osbourne's 'Black Star Liner'. elease hav sinc included ollaborations with Ava Leigh, Luciano, Ras Zacchari, Levi Rhythm, Bob Skeng, Dark Angel, Cate Ferris and Brother Cultur, many of which received critical acclaim. In the last few years, Nick has produced several albums on Roots Garden, including Earl 16's 'Gold Dust', Brother Culture's 'All A We' and Vin Gordon & The Real Rock Band's 'Revenge'.

Since the un ystem began in 1985, Nick has been a DJ all over the world, travelling to countless countries and continents and still continues to do so, working with any talented singers and collaborators. ranching out into other projects, Nick as also done sound design for Julian Temple fil 'abyLondo', and wor with 12-piece band from the Solomon Islands, Narasirato, producing n album and mixing the live show, something Nick has sometimes done with the likes of Pama International and Soothsayers meet Johnny Clarke.
